Singapore
Hello Kitty
It's a lot like an asian New Orleans
Don't go to Hooters

Our Ratings:
Overall:

It's a tidy, compact, and orderly place with some shiny modernism and some quaint colonialism.
Activities:

Been there twice—a tidy metropolis compacted in a small city state. In terms of things to do, there's shopping and walking...and more shopping.

Challenge:

Not a terribly challenging destination, culturally--but exploring the markets could give you a run for your money.

Food:

Good mix of Indian and Asian foods in the different parts of town.

Lodging:

We stayed near Clarke Quay, a nice walking shopping area.

Fun:

As for BIG fun, it’s mostly shopping and a little sightseeing. Go find the monkeys on Mt. Faber (because I didn’t). My first trip was spent working all hours...not too fun.

Current WX:

Our Trips:

Looky! Singapore trading cards. Screw that Pokémon
® stuff--all the kids are raving about the Buddha!

This is where I went to meditate every morning.

A temple in the shadows of the skyscrapers. And my rickshaw I used to get to work.

A view of downtown Singapore. Not pictured: the 100+ temperatures!

A view of the bay and the Fairmount Hotel (which used to be some important building...). As you can tell, I didn't have a lot of time to research what I was seeing there.

My Hello Kitty brand water! Yes, it's empty. When you're thirsty for the Kitty, ain't nothin' stoppin you!!

Pretty kitty--the Singapore Lion. The fountain wasn't on when I was there, but he spits water. Niiice.

That's it! It's not like I was there for a long time or had a chance to hit the town...but we went back during our trip to Thailand, so check out that wacky adventure too!
