Overall:
We enjoyed a fantastic hike to the roof of Africa. Would have been nice to actually make it to the top, but you can't win 'em all.
Activities:
We focused on Kilimanjaro, but I’d go back and check out a safari.
Challenge:
Food poisoning and altitude sickness are what you have to look forward to after the rough go of actually getting to Kilimanjaro! Rough all around...and Africa, is, um, "different."
Food:
Uh…hot dogs for breakfast. Not so good. Watch out for tainted eggs. "Orange" drink was the highlight. Sad.
Lodging:
Tenting, mainly, but we stayed at the Springlands Motel in Moshi (nice). And had a not-so-nice experience at a hotel outside of Dar es Salaam…of course I wouldn’t recommend vaca in Dar to begin with.
Fun:
Africa is beautiful. Tanzania is beautiful…but it’s Africa…so very, um, National Geographic, so go and be ready for that. Masai warriors walking down the road with spears and stuff.
