REI
Seriously, what can't you get at REI? We have a few backpacks,
some clothes, and most of our gear was purchased from these fine
folks. If you're new to outdoors activities, they teach you how
to do it right.
|
LEKI
Leki Makalu hiking poles are our tried & true poles that
we've taken on almost every hiking trip. Got bum knees? Get
'em.
|
MSR Corp
We're no gourmet cooks, but as soon as we light up the MSR stove
(we've got the Superfly and the Whisperlite Int'l) we are suddenly
the backcountry edition of Julia Childs and Emeril Lagasse.
|
Lowa
A relatively new purchase, some Lowa low-hikers for our trip to
Switzerland & Italy. Nice, comfortable, easy to break in,
but not for big loads. |
Merrell
Again, newly purchased low-hikers that didn't need a lot of breaking
in. However, they are a little pungent when used all day, every
day for a month. |
Thorlo
If you're gonna go hiking, get yourself a pair of these rockin'
socks. I wear 'em when I'm not hiking to keep my feet toasty in
the winter. They keep you mostly blister free. |
Polar Heart Rate Monitors
Want to train more effectively? Want to know how many heart beats
you've had in the last hour? Get yourself one of these gadgets.
Used regularly, it prevents overtraining and includes nifty charts
& graphs for your computer. |
Mountain Hardwear
High quality clothing and gear for every occasion. We've got gore-tex
jackets, goose down bags, shorts, all emblazoned with the lugnut.
You're going to pay more, but man, this stuff is GOOD! |
Sierra Designs
Need a tent? SD design great tents that feel palacial with room
enough for Bob's big ol' feet. We've got a 2 person and a 1 person
that are tough as nails. |
Marmot
Both a fuzzy mountain creature and an outdoor product store. Amy
has a Gore-tex jacket from Marmot. Good stuff. |
