Best trail food:
Grilled brie sandwich in Torres del Paine in southern Chile. Perfect. The weinerschnitzel on the Rhone in Germany was good eats, too.

Worst trail food:
"Fry Sauce" at McDonald's in Utah. Or the very rare beef sandwich at the airport in Punta Arenas.

Most amusing hotel:
The tiny hotel in Attinghausen, Switzerland, where the tuba band and cowbell parade serenades you at 10:30pm.
